HP Eco Solutions

HP's Commitment to Sustainability

Over the last 50 years, HP has been an industry leader in reducing its impact on the environment. From company carpools in the 1970's, to worldwide recycling programs and innovative energy-efficient technology today, we continue our commitment to environmental responsibility.

HP integrates environmental considerations into our business and product design strategies. HP's product stewards and product designers identify, prioritize and recommend environmental improvements through a company-wide Design for Environment program, which has three priorities: energy efficiency, materials innovation, and design for recyclability.

HP became the first computer manufacturer to operate its own recycling facility in 1997. We continue to set the standard today through our leading recycling and reuse programs, which provide an easy way to recycle computer equipment, printing supplies, rechargeable batteries and other items.

Designing for the environment
HP has always understood the value of protecting the earth. As the challenges facing our environment grow, so does our commitment to creating the solutions. It's who we are, and what we do.

Green IT for Dummies

The guide, produced independently by research and analysis firm Freeform Dynamics, provides guidance for where to start in greening an organization and maps out a pragmatic, yet comprehensive course of action ranked according to expense and difficulty of implementation.
